What is Structural Integration?

Structural Integration is the term used by expert practitioner Ross Short to describe the balanced use of the techniques of Reiki, Pilates, Whole Body Vibration and the progressive therapy known as Hellerwork.

The principles Ross employs also include the integration of the emotions into the overall therapeutic process. For instance stress and anger can cause us to hold our bodies in positions that strain our muscles and cause pain and discomfort.

As an athlete your best performance is naturally achieved when you are fully balanced and structurally aligned. As you get older, your body repairs itself at a slower rate and proper alignment of your bodily structures through Body-Wize Structural Integration sessions causes pain to cease, and continued adherence to the programs outlined for you by Ross from Body-Wize Structural Integration will prepare you for aging in a natural healthy way.

What is HELLERWORK?

This modality addresses the fascial (soft tissue) system of your body which wraps all your muscle tissue and organs. When the fascia isn’t balanced, muscles are denied moving in their full range of motion. We locate and release fascial (soft tissue) shortening caused by emotional or physical injury, chronic stress or unhealthy habits.

It’s a hands-on, deep tissue work. Hellerwork techniques are very similar to the Rolf Method of Structural Integration but also include deeper and more extensive verbal communication between the client and the practitioner.
